Jonas, a 13 year old boy was operated on a brain tumor and received cranial irrradiation therapy. At the end of treatment it became obvious that he could store only limited amount of information for managing everyday activities. When his parents asked him to take care of several things, he always forgot parts of it. His ability to concentrate was reduced as soon as several details had to be taken care of. School lessons stressed him a lot, when he could not use written material.
For the treatment of disorders of working memory,such as Jonas has, usually computerized trainings are used with the intention to increase memory capacity by intensive practising. It is known that this treatment has only linited success and is not helpful for improving activities in every day life.
