Virtual Reality in Rehabilitation: We find solutions!
Virtual Reality (VR) is growing rapidly especially in the fields of health-care and rehabilitation. While this technology makes therapy more fun, challenging and measurable, the state of VR is still in its infancy.
Therapy takes place when and where it is not possible!
The VR4REHAB partners, including the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Teesside University (UK) and St. Maartenskliniek (NL) are leading specialists in the treatment of childhood and adult disability and pain management. Together with partners from industry, universities and rehabilitation clinics, we aim to develop new VR-applications that promote better function and outcomes for patients and children with disabilities.
The three-year project VR4REHAB will change rehabilitative care dramatically.
We in the St. Mauritius Therapiklinik (D) are searching for new possibilities to treat cognitive and behavioural problems in children and young adults with brain lesions (film).
For this innovative power we need:
– IT designers
– Programmers
– Developers
– Entrepreneurs
– Rehab-doctors
– Neuropediatricians
– Teacher
– Developmental psychologists
– Therapists
– Neurologists
– Neuropsychologists
– Patients and
– Young people with disabilities and their Parents.
During the Mauritius-Hackathon VR4REHAB 2018, we will bring these groups together in intense and focussed sessions
The ingredients:
2,5 days (free of charge), various teams, multiple ideas, networking, a load of innovations, food, music and the possibility to experience VR.
The best idea will be rewarded!!
In a next step (VR4RHAB “game jam“) a prototype of a VR game will be developed together with the winning team. This new developed VR therapy will then be studied in Rehab setting.
